Loveless’ Opening Night

Modeo-born Curtis Mascan led the cast in the first night of Loveless in Jotunn City’s impressive Goldenrod Theatre, a production adapted from the book of the same name, and the highly-anticipated performence certainly delivered, with Mascan making the transition from screen to stage perfectly. Mascan, best know for his five-year stint as Lieutenant Richter Quaid in the acclaimed film series “Those Who Fight Further”, performed beautifully as the tragic hero, delivering lines so eloquently you’d forgive and forget about his early work in horrendous low-budget horror films such as “Night of the Malboros”, and he’ll continue to astound for the remainder of the week before the actors take a break until next month, when anyone close to Gongaga City will be able to enjoy them at the Mercury Theatre.

Despite Mascan’s stellar performance, the real star of the show was little-known Cassidy Leonov, a rising star from Ispath, who amazed the audience into a standing ovation with her performance. Leonov, 19, had stunned the play’s director, Stode Balt, at the auditions in the Federation’s capital, even making him announce that she is “the greatest thing to ever happen to the theatre” during an interview with Jotunn Arts Radio earlier this month.

The show remains in the capital until the end of the week, and a handful of tickets remain, which can be bought from the Goldenrod Theatre on Aesirpath Street. Judging from the reactions, it won’t be the last we see of the stage’s new star.
